Ingredients & Formulation

We suggest checking the exact product and variant, its ingredient information, scent and intended use together. Plant-derived describes an ingredient’s origin; unscented describes a scent choice. Neither replaces information about the whole formula. Here is how to compare labels and ask us a specific ingredient question.

Plant-derived ingredients

Plant-derived describes a raw material’s origin, not everything about a finished formula. We consider plant-derived ingredients as we develop our products, and we choose ingredients for each product and variant. You can find the details on its current label.

Enzymes and mineral ingredients

Enzymes and mineral ingredients can play different roles in a cleaning formulation. Their presence should be established from the specific product information. We do not imply that every product in our range contains the same enzyme system or mineral ingredients.

Scent is part of the design

We offer plant essential-oil laundry powders and rose and chamomile herbal shampoo soap pastes. A scent name or a plant source is not a promise that a product is suitable for every person. To compare variants, read the ingredient information and the directions on the label.

Solid formats, everyday routines

Sheets, powders, soaps and pastes offer different ways to store and dose a product. A change of format alone does not establish a measured reduction in carbon emissions or overall environmental impact; that requires a defined comparison and supporting data.

Read the label for the task

Start with the intended use, then check the dose, compatible materials and precautions. Do not substitute household cleaning paste for a personal-care product. For current ingredient or batch-specific questions, contact us with the product name.

Soap, plant-derived ingredients and powder are different descriptions

When comparing laundry products, separate the ingredient origin, cleaning system and physical format. We explain how those choices affect everyday washing, hard-water questions and the roles of our products in our natural laundry soap versus detergent powder guide.

How to check a laundry product’s ingredient information

  1. Identify the exact variant. Note the product name, pack size and scent. Our Rooftop Garden and Tranquil Field powders are different variants; a description of one should not be used as the ingredient list for the other.
  2. Separate a highlighted ingredient from the complete information. A mention of coconut oil, a botanical extract or enzymes explains one feature. Check whether the information you are reading is a selection of ingredients or the full list available for that product.
  3. Choose scent deliberately. We offer essential-oil scented laundry powders and unscented laundry sheets. If you do not want added scent, start with the unscented option and check its current label rather than choosing a botanical fragrance as a substitute.
  4. Match the cleaning task. Read the product and fabric directions for intended use, dose and compatibility. A laundry soap and a shampoo soap paste serve different purposes, even though both names contain soap.

Looking for information about endocrine disruptors?

Start with the substance or claim you want to check. Neither a plant-derived description nor an unscented label establishes the absence of every endocrine-disrupting substance. Our fragrance and endocrine-disruptor guide explains how to read ingredient claims and the scope of testing, with links to primary sources.

What to send us with an ingredient enquiry

To help us identify the right product, please include its name and variant, photos of the front and ingredient panel, the batch code if available, and the ingredient or wording you would like us to clarify.

I am looking at [product and variant], [pack size]. The pack states [exact wording]. Does this refer to an ingredient choice or to a finished-product test? If a relevant report is available, which substances and product does it cover?

Send the details through our contact page. You can check names and pack sizes in our product facts, then find available retail routes on our where-to-buy page.

Ingredient questions

Where can I check the ingredients of a Twiggy product?

Start with the current label for the exact product and variant. If you need clarification, send us the product name, pack size, label photos and your specific ingredient question through our contact page.

Are Twiggy essential-oil laundry powders unscented?

No. Our essential-oil laundry powders are scented products. Our unscented laundry sheets are a separate option; choose according to your scent preference and the current product information.

Does a no-added claim mean a substance was not detected in testing?

No. A no-added statement describes a formulation choice. A not-detected result refers to the substances, method and detection limits stated in a test report. Ask which kind of evidence supports the particular wording.
