Measure a level scoop consistently
Level the powder with the rim without heaping or packing it down. Use the same supplied scoop rather than assuming a kitchen spoon or another brand’s scoop holds the same weight. To check your own measurement, tare a dry container on a gram scale and weigh several level scoops separately. Keep the container and scoop dedicated to cleaning products.
Use the actual load, not the machine’s maximum capacity
An 8 kg washing machine does not mean that you are washing 8 kg of clothes every time. Follow the selected programme’s loading instructions, the garment labels and the detergent directions. A small, lightly soiled load does not necessarily need the same dose as a larger, dirtier one.
Pre-treat local stains rather than doubling the whole dose
With our laundry powder, a low-temperature quick wash is not our recommended way to remove milk stains. We suggest soaking first, then washing as allowed by the garment label and product directions. Account for detergent used during both soaking and the main wash. Dried milk, collars and cuffs may need local attention.
Check powder marks, placement and water conditions
Foam does not directly measure cleaning performance. If powder or white marks remain, check placement, damp or clumped powder, loading and rinsing before adding more. Follow the pack’s guidance for hard water. For machine washing, use the specified powder compartment or placement method; for hand washing, dissolve the powder as directed before adding clothes.
Can powder go in an automatic detergent dispenser?
A powder-compatible washing machine does not mean every compartment accepts powder. Some automatic reservoirs are designed for liquid detergent. For example, Whirlpool’s Load & Go guidance specifies liquid HE detergent for its bulk dispenser. Check your model’s manual before filling it.
If the machine provides a separate manual powder compartment, follow its instructions, including any required insert position and whether to switch off automatic dosing for that wash. Do not fill a liquid-only reservoir with dry powder or store a homemade powder-and-water mixture in it. If the washer requires HE detergent, check that the product label meets that requirement rather than assuming every powder does.
How to compare two doses without guessing
A level scoop can vary within the stated 10–15 g range. Moving from 10 g to 15 g means using 50% more powder by mass; it does not mean 50% more cleaning. Weigh the scoop if you need an accurate comparison, then keep the product, load and programme similar while reviewing the result.
A useful note has six fields: product and variant; actual load; main stain; programme and temperature; detergent mass; and the result after drying. If two washes change all six things at once, they cannot tell you which change helped. The American Cleaning Institute’s detergent guidance also notes that using either too much or too little detergent can leave laundry less clean.

Can laundry powder go in an automatic liquid-detergent reservoir?
Not if the reservoir is designed only for liquid detergent. Check whether the machine has a manual compartment that accepts powder and whether automatic dispensing must be turned off for that wash. Follow the instructions for your exact model.
Should I double the powder dose for milk stains?
We suggest suitable soaking or pretreatment before washing rather than relying on a low-temperature quick wash or automatically doubling the whole-load dose. Follow the garment and product directions and account for detergent used during pretreatment.
