Yellowed white clothes do not always need more detergent. We start with the stain location, when the colour changed and the care label, then choose a suitable treatment.
Check the pattern and recent laundry history
Collar and underarm marks may involve body-soil build-up. Marks noticed after storage call for a review of washing and drying. If a whole load changes colour, check sorting, water and the machine. Colour alone cannot identify the cause. The ACI laundry-problems guide distinguishes body soil, dye transfer and metal-related discolouration.
Pre-treat only where the fabric allows
Read the care label before choosing temperature or bleach. For compatible washable fabrics, follow the treatment directions, then complete the wash and rinse. White fabric is not automatically safe for every bleach. Check trims and mixed fibres too. See Whirlpool’s white-clothes guide for label and sorting advice.
With our essential-oil laundry powder, one level scoop is approximately 10–15 g, not a fixed dose for every load. Follow the pack directions and account for any laundry soap already used in pre-treatment.
Check before heat drying
If marks remain, pause before tumble drying or ironing. Repeated strong scrubbing or extra detergent may not restore the colour. For valuable garments or unexplained changes, ask a professional cleaner and bring the care label. Do not mix cleaning products yourself.
